Four New Ways Cin7 Omni Can Help During Peak Season

Written by Jenn Buckingham | Sep 8, 2026, 2:00:03 PM

Peak season brings more orders, more activity, and more opportunities to grow. It also makes the right systems and processes even more valuable as inventory moves faster, payment volume increases, and teams have more to manage.

That’s what makes the timing of this quarter’s Cin7 Omni updates especially useful. We have four new capabilities that are now live, each designed to reduce manual work and help your team stay on top of the added volume.

With Black Friday falling on November 27, 2026, there’s still time to get them set up and working for your team before your busiest weeks begin.

Here’s what’s new, where each update can help during peak season, and when we’d recommend putting it to work.

1. Simplify Stocktakes Without Slowing Fulfillment

WMS Stocktake is the one to pay attention to. It’s the biggest addition in this release and the one most likely to change how your team handles stocktakes before and during your peak season.

What It Does

The stocktake process now lives inside Omni, with multiple people able to count at the same time.

  • Your whole team can count simultaneously on mobile devices, handheld scanners, or desktop, using the devices they already work with.
  • Blind counts keep existing quantities hidden, so counters record what’s actually on the shelf instead of being influenced by the number already in the system.
  • A manager review layer brings everyone’s counts together, so you can review adjustments before anything is committed to live inventory.
  • Order fulfillment keeps moving while the stocktake runs, so your team can keep counting without bringing fulfillment to a stop.

If your team has been coordinating counts in spreadsheets and uploading the results afterward, you can now manage the whole process directly in Omni.

How It Helps During Peak Season

The big difference is that counting no longer has to mean putting fulfillment on pause. That makes it much easier to schedule a full stocktake in October, when every shipping day counts.

It’s useful during peak season, too. If a fast-moving SKU doesn’t look quite right on a Tuesday in late November, you can check it without waiting for things to slow down or disrupting the rest of your operation.

It can also make seasonal onboarding simpler. Seasonal staff can count on familiar devices without having to learn a separate spreadsheet process first.

When To Set It Up

Aim for early October, so you head into November confident in your inventory numbers.

2. Automated QuickBooks Online Syncs

When order volume climbs, keeping your accounting data current matters even more.

What It Does

Automatic sync scheduling is now available across both of Cin7 Omni’s accounting integrations. Choose how often you want each sync to run, then let Cin7 Omni take it from there.

You can sync as often as every 15 minutes and use different schedules for different types of accounting data. For example, sync invoices more frequently while lower-priority records run on a slower schedule, instead of treating everything the same.

How It Helps During Peak Season

When order volume climbs, there’s already plenty for your team to keep track of. Scheduled syncing keeps accounting data moving in the background, so your finance team can work from up-to-date numbers without adding another manual task to the list.

You’ll feel the benefit again after the holiday rush. Because transactions have been syncing along the way, there’s less catching up to do when January close rolls around.

When to Set It Up

This month. Setup only takes a few minutes, so it’s worth getting your schedule in place before things get busier.

3. Surcharges by Payment Method

Different payment methods come with different costs, and your payment mix can shift during peak season.

What It Does

You can now set a separate surcharge rule for each supported payment method in Cin7 Omni, so what you charge can more closely reflect the cost of each payment type.

This is only available to Omni Pay merchants in markets where surcharges are permitted.

How It Helps During Peak Season

Your payment mix can look different during your busy season.

Higher order volumes, more consumer-facing checkouts, and increased use of options like buy now, pay later can all shift how customers choose to pay.

Separate rules by payment method give you more control over surcharges as that mix changes, especially when payment volume is at its highest.

When To Set It Up

Aim for mid-October, so your rules are set and tested before checkout volume starts to climb.

4. Flexible Multi-Currency Settlement

For international sellers, higher order volume can also mean more money moving across currencies.

What It Does

Cin7 Omni Pay users can now settle funds in supported currencies, choose when or whether to convert them, and let reconciliation happen automatically in the background.

It’s particularly relevant for Cin7 Omni Pay customers selling across multiple markets, including B2B Portal customers in supported markets.

How It Helps During Peak Season

If you sell internationally, cross-border order volume often rises right alongside everything else in Q4.

Holding funds in a supported currency and choosing when to convert them, rather than converting as soon as a payment comes in, gives you more control over foreign exchange costs during your highest-volume weeks. It also gives you more flexibility over when and how you move international funds.

Automated reconciliation helps keep the admin from piling up, too. Foreign-currency transactions are matched as they go, so you’re not left with weeks of reconciliation work to catch up on in January.

When To Set It Up

This month. Check which markets and currencies are supported for your business, then get everything in place before peak season arrives.

Three More Ways to Get Ready for Peak Season

Beyond the four updates above, there are a few other ways Cin7 can help take some of the pressure out of your busiest weeks.

  1. Make wholesale ordering easier. If B2B orders tend to increase during peak season, make sure your B2B Portal is ready so customers can place orders online without adding more manual order entry for your team.
  2. Give yourself more flexibility on inventory. If working capital is limiting how much stock you can commit to, Cin7 Capital can help you fund inventory earlier, giving you more room to order ahead of longer supplier lead times.
  3. Keep payments connected as volume grows. Cin7 Pay keeps payments tied into your Cin7 workflow, so your team has fewer separate steps to keep track of as orders pick up.

A Suggested Setup Order

All four updates are available now, alongside a few existing Cin7 capabilities worth getting in place before peak. If you’re trying to work all of this into an already busy few weeks, here’s a simple order to follow:

When

Set up

This month

Set up QuickBooks Online Sync Scheduler. Confirm Multi-Currency Settlement eligibility for your markets. Take a look at Cin7 Capital if working capital could affect your peak inventory plans.

Early October

Run a full WMS Stocktake. Review your B2B Portal setup so customers can place orders easily before volume increases.

Mid-October

Configure surcharge rules by payment method. Review your Cin7 Pay setup and payment options before checkout volume starts to climb.

November

By November, the setup should be behind you. Use mid-season counts to spot-check fast movers and keep an eye on payments, returns, and inventory as things get busier.

If your busiest weeks fall somewhere other than the Q4 holidays, the same approach still works. Just count backward from your busiest weeks.
