New CTO joins Cin7’s ongoing inventory software success story

Cin7, a pioneer in cloud-based inventory management software (IMS), is proud to announce that Trevor Leybourne has joined the company as its first Chief Technical Officer.

“Technology is what I’ve been most passionate about pretty much my whole life, so I’m thrilled to be in a position where I can work with the Cin7 team to build the best possible software,” says Leybourne.

Leybourne noted two priorities for his new role: leverage Cin7’s incredible market data and insights to create new opportunities for growth, and turn Cin7’s portfolio of inventory products into world-class, high-performing, essential software that customers can use effortlessly.
Cin7 CEO David Leach says that the new CTO is an incredible hire, who will play an integral part in safely scaling the company’s rapidly growing, market-leading inventory management platforms.

“Trevor has joined at an exciting time, and we’re stoked to have him join our team,” says Leach. “Cin7 has had an incredible growth journey since it was founded by Danny Ing over a decade ago. In a nutshell, Trevor’s role as CTO is all about building modern, world class software at massive scale.”

Leybourne built his first computer as a kid, and he’s been immersed in tech ever since. But he says that for him, being a tech leader is all about people.

“As a tech leader, I love working with people – growing people, coaching people. That’s what allows a company to build awesome software products, and that’s what I’m here to do at Cin7.”

Prior to Cin7, Leybourne ran an independent technical consulting firm and was head of delivery and technology at MYOB, where he led global teams to transform their Enterprise products to the cloud and help grow the Enterprise business tenfold.

“I see the job of being a technology leader like this: we need to model the behaviors we want to see, we need to coach teams so they can grow, and we need to care about people,” says Leybourne. “That’s how I want to approach the exciting technical
challenges before me here at Cin7.”
